The word certainly implies, well, certainty. Would you please prove how
one calculate what that critical mass is, and then show it is less than the
projected UN population maximum.
One thing that makes me skeptical about this is that I've been hearing
about an impending world catastrophy, mass starvation, etc. within the next
25 years for the last 40 years. I've read books on the subject. When I
was younger, I believed them.
They all had arguements that are similar to the ones I find here. Yet, the
doom didn't happen as they predicted. They were also certain. For
example, by now, the farms of the US would be seeing less than half the
yield of the 60s because all of the topsoil would be gone. Yet, yields are
much higher now than before, and topsoil is increasing.
