A gamma ray laser might be useful for fusion, but I thought the most 
interesting part was the "new state of matter" portion. You just don't 
find new states of matter everyday.<G>
The idea of a particle forming an atom with it's anti-particle is a 
new concept for me, and dazzling as I've never considered the 
possibility.

Of course I've heard of grasers, skiffy features them on occasion.

I wonder if someone has written a story featuring rasers? What would 
they be useful for?
