about how it would play out. Some expected time travel to the Jurassic.

That is how her power seemed at first, but later you see that she
makes other bodies disappear while changing her own aspect. Think of
how she had Micah running around in circles. She casts illusions and
that is quite a different thing from shape-shifting.
I know some people place a lot of value in names, but I think that
sometimes that is an intentional bit of misdirection used to keep your
eyes off the ball in the magicians hand and on the one on the table.
