I don't see commercial news except for the one or two nights a week that
Peggy and I bring dinner to her mom's place, but what I do see is pretty
sad, and explains why people in my country drive Hummers and eat WAY too
much really unhealthy food and care WAY too much about football and
baseball and freakin' Britney Spears...

Common Cause is running a campaign right now to influence the rule
changes that the FCC is about to consider. Here's the message that they
ask members to forward to friends.

If you are moved to act, act. If you don't agree, feel free to tell
Common Cause to get lost. If you think I've violated some tenet of

Nothing personal against Britney, but we need less media coverage of her
and more news about the policy decisions that impact our lives.  But the
