This is an unfinished song that my lovely and delicate wife and I started writing while driving back from the Pacific Northwest. We were in the kind of mood that is driving this thread, having just turned off "God Bless the USA" or some other piece of patrioreligious tripe. We haven't recorded it yet, but we do have music. If you've heard "God Bless the USA", you know where we're headed with this. Think of the frighteningly sincere cowboy type who has to choke back tears on every other line.
Think lots of swelling strings. I Love America (And Jesus Does, Too) When God was creating the earth, He saved the best for us: The grandest canyon, The rockiest mountains, Great plains alive with grains. For God so loved the world That He gave His only Son, And to our most-favored nation, This land. (spoken) Thy will be done The master has a purpose For this land under red, white, and blue. Yes, I love America, And Jesus does, too. He walked upon the waters Created us equally And blessed our founding fathers From sea to shining sea His gift has been wrapped in red, white, and blue. Cuz I love America And God does too _______________________________________________ http://www.mccmedia.com/mailman/listinfo/brin-l
