Don't think that a statement like this
dismisses the Administration from facing
accountability.

There are more than enough ample reasons
to "rake the administration over the coals"
for their bungling even if we leave
evacuation out of the equation.  The Bush
Administration failed to put competent
emergency management leadership in place,
and subsequently completely failed to
manage the situation after the New Orleans
disaster.

They failed just as badly for New York
and the WTC disaster, but NYNY was blessed
with better local leadership, and perhaps
more competent staff.  Also, NYNY found a
way to channel contributions of time and
skill from individuals who came to help,
something that was thwarted in NOLA.
