I'm sure it happened, though.
Technically it is not draft dodging but AWOL. Bush by his own records skipped at least 6 months of service and many questions about his claimed dates in late 72 and 73. See my website. Each campaign develops its own dynamic, I knew Bush had less experience and much much less intelligence then Edwards four years ago but it never seemed to become an issue. The jokes really started after he got elected. Kerry has always been a master for playing to what the people seem to want - right now war hero who came back to protest against the war plays pretty well. Right now just not being Bush gets him 90% of the Dems and half the Independents. I have quit paying much attention to the Prez race now, the Senate and House are the important battlegrounds. There seems to have been a real swing in the polls in party affiliation the last several months. The GOP has the House, Senate, White House, Federal Courts, most media, so I imagine they will be saying how great things are or it's all Clinton's fault until election day. Maybe not. Can't forget their real favorite: "Watch out for those anti-Christian foreigners and them damned liberals." Foreigner bashing isn't a one party sport. Now that outsourcing is hitting the $100,000+ database manager jobs some Dems will play against that.
