Well, I agree that  the author certainly does herself no favors by writing
a two page article on sceintific principles, and then succumbing to all the
sins she just delineated by appealing to her own previous biases and a
single piece of anecdotal evidence.

Nevertheless, the rest of the article until this pargarph struck me as
still being worthwhile, despite the author's failings - and I think that
despite the last paragraph it is still hard to call into question the
earlier conclusions about "scientific" studies on this subject.
