Who cares? It's a stupid, divisive, smirky thing to say (unless you really mean it and are consistent in following up the logical implications).

Who cares what Bill Maher says, anyway? He's not a representative of mainstream American liberalism by any means (I don't know any liberals who want him representing us). He's not a representative of anything other than smarmy, self-impressed hot air, which knows no partisan boundaries.
