A normal cube is a 3x3x3 - so pretty much what you'd expect - its like solving just the corners of a regular cube. The coolest thing about a 2x2x2 is that there is a 3x3x3 burried inside! > In fact the book was so old that it talked about a top >down approach, do one side (the top), then the top rows around the top, >then the next ring, then the bottom (corners or middles, I don't know which). That's called the "Layers" approach - it's what I use. Nothing wrong with it! >So I'm assuming there is some starting position that is the worst, takes >the most moves to get it straight? The "antipode" - for the 3x3x3 it's still an open question. See http://www.geocities.com/jaapsch/puzzles/cube3.htm Joshua
