Handweights *before* the Bowflex.  :)  The handweights are cheap.  I
bought a bunch at Academy (relatively local sporting goods chain -- I've
seen them in various places in Texas, don't know where else they are)
for about $0.50 a pound, awhile back.  And they take up less room than
the Bowflex.  (The only problem was figuring out how to store them when
a) company was coming, or b) we wanted a fire in the fireplace, as we
kept them lined up on the hearth.)
