Texas swing is a mix of music. For example take some of the Bob Wills and
the Texas Playboys standards, like "I saw miles and miles of Texas", or
"Take me Back to Tulsa." They are much more than a mix of blues and swing.

My wife was born in Tennessee, and her family goes back there a good bit.
The old country music sounds quite different than the country music of the
last 40 years to me. Indeed, bluegrass is a new musical form, as I'm sure
you know, invented by Bill Monroe.

I do like the 3 fingered banjo picking a good deal, though, and like
bluegrass in general. But, much of the real old stuff feels much more
genuine to me. Real folk music.
