The show is amusing and on some rare occasions could be called pretty decent scifi. It's a tremendous improvement on the film, which was awful. Also, as with Farscape, there are many subtle (and not-so-subtle) jokes slipped in to the dialog for the at-home viewer. Guest star John Billingsly (who plays Dr. Phlox on ST: Enterprise,) hailing all things Vulcan in a throw-away line, etc.
