I use the "to:" and "reply to:" field to sort them since in that field normally has the listname in it. The few people who use bcc to send mail (resulting in "reciepient list supressed") I can sort by hand. And I do agree that the [Brin-l] tag clutters up the identifiers especially since not all of us are neat or use a program that doesn't add extra "re:"s. I've had a problem skimming through my mail as well. I now do it using searching for keywords instead of using the inbuild threading in my mailreader because of the cluttered tags.
