Morse code was definitely a requirement for First Class back in the 60's
but was long gone when my son was in scouts from 2000 to 2005.
I was already a novice and quite adept at CW when I joined scouts in
1964 so even though I was only a Tenderfoot, guess who had to teach the
code to the older and higher ranking kids? Yep, me and some of the kids
were pretty resentful of a tenderfoot teaching them.
