I remember those cub scout kits.  There was also a 1 tube BC set for the Cub 
Scouts.  My dad got me one for Christmas in 1954 or 55 and I still had it in 
high school, but lost it along the way after that.  As I recall, learning 
the morse code was also a requirement for receiving the First Class scout 
rank.  When I was an assistant scoutmaster (around 1964/5 or so) I remember 
teaching morse to the whole troop.
