Dear Neal:

I sure do!  I won't go into details about things here, but if you'd like to contact me privately, use my private e-mail address.  I was just about 12 years old when Daddy left us, so you'll have to refresh my memory on EXACTLY who George Osborne was.  It seems I recall Daddy mentioning his name from the stage SEVERAL times when I was allowed to go to stage shows that weren't too far away from our home.  I just can't put him into context at this exact moment, however, if you'll give me a small hint or two, I'm hoping it'll fall back into place.  The name is darned familiar, but how he fit in hasn't yet fit.

Thanks for loving bluegrass & mountain music, supporting Stanley music, thanks for your interest and correspondence and please do give me just a tiny hint or 2 & I'll do my best to fit the name with the face & place he held with Daddy.  Some of the former Clinch Mountain Boys & others who visited our home, who performed on stage at the same shows Ralph & Daddy did, or helped them during recording sessions, or produced or taped their television show or whom we visited--some names come right back, but not how they fit into Daddy & Ralph's careers & music, others I can recall exactly what they did, said, or their spot in the lineup, but their names I have to be reminded of.  I'm so very interested in hearing how George Osborne fit in as the name now keeps haunting me because I've heard Daddy mention that name a number of times.

Keep loving mountain & Bluegrass music, it's just the best.

Cordially,

Doris Stanley Bradley.

Dear Renee':

George Shuffler is a wonderful musician & former Clinch Mountain Boy from the last years Daddy entertained.  Daddy loved him like a brother & we all called him "Aunt George".  Daddy somehow gave him that nickname when he substituted for Mother Maybell Carter or one of the famous Carter Sisters over at a show in Grundy, Virginia one time or something similar happened when Aunt George had to substitute for either Mother Maybell or one of the Carter Sisters.  From that day forward, he became Aunt George to Daddy & all of us.  We love him so.  Congrats on the wedding!!!!  I was single for 18 years from age 21-40 & finally remarried in 1993.  I waited a long time for the hubby I have, but it was worth the wait!

Cordially,

Doris.

I forgot.   Aunt George Shuffler who ???

I'm scratchin' my head here.

My fiance's name is George Scheffler.   Lol lol.

He's not an aunt .... but he is a monkey's uncle.

We're getting married in October and we'll be heading
south to the cabin.     October's prettiest in the Cumberlands.
And out of all the places I could chose to go,  there's no place
like "home".    :o)

thanks,
Renee'
