TAG suggested back in July that this API something specific to Chrome or
Google Play Store. It looks like this hasn't been done, any good reason
to not doing that?

Also there's been an update on the TAG about the plan of shipping this
API without changing the name. But that was just 1 week ago, should we
give them some time to reply before shipping?
