Thanks Rick! Yes, I definitely think that the browser's built-in find-on-page could be redefined using this. In Chromium at least they are already implemented using some of the same structures (DocumentMarker for keeping track of highlight positions). I think further down the line it could be worthwhile to look at fully transitioning things like find-on-page to Highlight API.
