Hi all,
Good luck for the new developers, and let's hope that they will not lose
motivation with us!
You asked for an idea, here it goes, and it might be very complicated to
implement.
The games we almost do not have are those that have to do with see battles. We
have Lone Wolf, but it is old and does not always work with the new system and
screen reader versions. So I would suggest a game where you can either simulate
a modern warship and do missions. Or, to add up an rpg feature into it, you can
be a captain, and have stats like ship class/type, crew size, crew moral, crew
professionality which can be divided in gunnery and cannons, missile handling,
navigation, mechanics, fire controll etc. So during a battle, if some of your
navigation crew die, your navigability decreases, same with the other stats,
plus parts of the ship that also have impact on how the ship performs. For
example, your ship gets hit and some parts get dammaged. The mechanics crew is
at full, which determines that that particular part/functionality of the ship
is repaired in a defined number of minutes or seconds, and it gets slowed down
if in the meantime some of the mechanics get killed by another hit. A hit can
also spread fire on the ship, where the fire controll crew steps in, and if
they work slowly due to many having been killed, the fire spreads and dammages
the ship and kills crew. As you do different sets of missions, you advance in
your career and new, more complex ship types are unlocked, the ultimate one
being an aircraft carrier. With the ship complexity the stats grow, so with the
big cruisers and aircraft carriers you would have also flight crew and
aircraft, that could be sent on tasks far from the ship and controlled from it,
or they could patrol as the ship's security. The aircraft carrier could also
controll an entire battle group consisting of different small-type ships,
submarines and aircraft. Just a vague idea of what would really be a boom in
the audiogaming market. I know, it involves a lot of research, coding and
testing, but I know that it would be really popular.
Another thing we don't really have is a marcial arts game. A simple tournament,
Street Fighter like game would also be cool, with an unlockable online play.
Once again, good luck!
          Miloš

One like Toom hunter, only you get to smash giant wasps with a huge choice of
weapons including a chainsaw and a flame thrower! Maybe an astech temple style
game where you have to run through tunnels looking for treasure?

    Hi,

Myself apart from the likes of swamp when I could see I liked games like
elite and such titles. We haven’t got anything in that genre at all so it would
be really nice to see it tackled.

    Hello all,

Following a recent post on this mailing list, asking where all of the audio
game developers have gone off to, we thought this would be a great opportunity
to introduce Ebon sky studios. We are a new audio games development team whose
goal is to create immersive role-playing games for the blind community. Our
focus, here at Ebon Sky Studios, is to tell immersive stories, combined with
exploration and solid battle mechanics.

We have been working on a set of game development tools over the past two
years and are starting production on our first audio game title: Crimson
Eclipse.

The Ebon Sky Studios team are very interested in what you, the community,
might have to say on the subjects of storytelling and game play. We look
forward to having a long and fruitful relationship with all of you.
Questions/comments/suggestions can be sent to us at: [email protected]

    Sincerely,

    The Ebon Sky Studios team
