It standardly puts it into the root of the C: drive, and names the files part0001.mp3, part0002.mp3, part0003.mp3 etc. etc.

Only real problem is that selecting the length of the pieces you want doesn't really always render them correctly, so for example if I want to split an hour long file into 10 minute pieces, it'll often split it into 30 2 minute pieces, etc. etc., but this won't really be an issue if you plan to make an audio CD of them or something.

Stay well

Hey Jacob,

I first converted the wav file into an mp3, then I used the book split program to divide it into 2 minute intervals. It said that it had successfully done that, but I can't find where the finished
product is at. Is there some way that I can find it?

Thanks,
Donnie

Not sure if booksplit would be of too much use to you since I never seem to be able to get it to actually split into the lengths it says it should, and
you'd first have to convert the file into MP3 in any case using something
like switch.

However, audacity could quite easily import the whole file, and then you can use the selection part of it's interface to specify specific time intervals,
and then on the file menu, there's an option to export selection, and this
then standardly gets saved as a wav file, so you could do something like
select the first half of it, save that, and then select the second half and
save that separately.

I have a wav file that is 97 minutes long. I need to cut it down to 80
minutes so I can get it onto
a CD. Is there some way that I can divide it into smaller files and take
some of them out? If so,
please let me know how?

Thanks,
Donnie
