Enjoy. If you're running XP, and you go into: start, settings, control panel, administrative tools, there's an item there called services. Although the list will still be just as long, you will in that list (that you standardly get to by tabbing over from the starting focus point) get a bit of a better description of each service, and if you hit Alt + Enter on an item in the list, it brings up a property dialogue, where you can tab to the startup combo box (or use Alt + E to get there directly), where you would then use Alt + down arrow to open it, move down to the startup option you wanted, and use alt + up arrow to close it, tab over to the Ok button and hit space on it. This info might not be too relevant, if you still want to know the full activity of each service, but it does give you the real 'name', but anyway.
