Hi, I uninstalled and reinstalled the mirc4life software on the vista computer.
This is my boyfriend's personal computer. One thing to note here is that he
logs onto his computer with user name and password, so I assume that puts him
in a mode where he would have to give administrative permission for a program
to install, or at least to install properly. He had initially said he never
gives anything administrative permission, and he really honestly doesn't
install much onto his computer, so I can see how he's gotten away with that in
the past. Regardless, though, we did try reinstalling mirc4life and we
permitted it to install when it asked for administrative permission to do so.
No further passwords or anything were needed in that process. Everything went
fine, and mirc4life is working like it should be, but it's completely screwed up
his mcafee antivirus/security program. Here's what happened after the
installation. We shut down and restarted the computer. When I was logged in, I
opened mirc4life, and there was a baloon that showed up saying that the
computer was at risk because the security on his computer was disabled. That
was the first indication of the issue. How do we go about enabling something
like that again and also is there any rhyme or reason why this would happen
with a program installation that has been given administrative permission
granted to it?

Any ideas, suggestions etc. would be appreciated greatly.

Thank you,
Kate
