Weather: Bright and breezy, with light wind from southwest. Pressure was quite high, falling slightly through the day. Clouds reducing from 30% to 15%. Raptor Observations: A quiet day for raptors. Most of those migrating were well north of our location. Broad-winged Hawks were fairly high. An American Kestrel and a Sharp-shinned Hawk flew rather lower and closer to the Hawk Tower. Non-raptor Observations: Passerines quieter and less active than on previous days, though we did have a later start to the count. It was very nice to see a Canada Warbler. The list is at: https://ebird.org/checklist/S272310403 Predictions: Winds begin light from the south, increasing towards midday and afternoon, backing southeast later. We hope for more raptors, and some more warblers. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Hugh Kent ([email protected]) Holiday Beach Hawk Watch information may be found at: http://hbmo.ca/ More site information at hawkcount.org: https://hawkcount.org/siteinfo.php?rsite=100 -- Ontbirds and Birdnews are moderated email Listservs provided by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) as a service to all birders in Ontario.
