Weather: The first half of the day was overcast, cool and windy. A strong north wind all day. The latter half of the day cleared up and warmed nicely. Raptor Observations: We saw many raptors today including a large number of American Kestrels and the first kettles of Broad-winged Hawks! Plenty of migrating Bald Eagles and Northern Harriers too. Non-raptor Observations: We had our hands full much of the day identifying raptors, however we had a treat of two Sandhill Cranes and Black-throated Green Warbler! See non-raptor list here: https://ebird.org/checklist/S118238980 Predictions: Tomorrows weather seems clear and warm. Hopefully the strong north wind keeps up and we will see more raptors tomorrow. Crossing our fingers for more Broad-wing kettles! ======================================================================== Report submitted by Nicole Shangi ([email protected]) Holiday Beach Hawk Watch information may be found at: http://hbmo.ca/ More site information at hawkcount.org: https://hawkcount.org/siteinfo.php?rsite=100 Count data submitted via Dunkadoo - Project info at: https://dunkadoo.org/explore/hbmo/hbmo-hawk-watch-fall-2022 -- Ontbirds and Birdnews are moderated email Listservs provided by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) as a service to all birders in Ontario.
