Apologies for the late posting, but the birds were not refound after 20 minutes
anyway.

Eight American Golden Plovers were seen in a muddy field on the 11th line near
regional road 10 (Tottenham Rd.) at approx. 2:30 pm, in the rain. They were in
various states of transition from summer to winter plumage.

Other birds included 3 or 4 Killdeer and a handful of smaller unknown
shorebirds - it was raining too hard to put up the scope.

>From Tottenham Rd., heading north, turn right (east) on 11th line. On the
>left (north) side there is a cornfield, and next to it is the field and
>puddles where the plovers were found.

Joyce Collier-Brown, Toronto

Take Hwy 400 North to Hwy 89, go west to 15th Sideroad, south to 11th line.
Turn right and scan every open field and puddle.
