Visitors:
A fairly quiet start to the 2018 Fall hawk watch season and thanks to Matt,
Mary, Ernie and Don for coming to hang at the hawkwatch today and to Bob J.
for getting everything setup.


Weather:
A sunny day with no clouds and moderate winds starting from the WNW and
then swinging through W to SW.

Raptor Observations:
Just a few migrant raptors today with a couple of Sharpies, the first
couple of Broadwings (both juvies), N. Harriers (3) and singles each of
Osprey and Am. Kestrel

Non-raptor Observations:
A great morning for passerines this morning at the site with a number of
warblers: Black and White (ad m and f), Cape May (ad m), Nashville (ad and
juvie),  Common Yellowthroat (m and f), Am. Redstart (ad m and f with juvie
m), Yellow (ad f), vireos: Red-eyed, Warbling and Philadelphia,
Woodpeckers: Pileated, Red-bellied (ad m and juvie m), Downy and N.
Flicker, Flycatchers: Olive-sided, Least, Great-crested, E. Kingbird,
Traill's, WB Nuthatch, Carolina and House Wrens, G. Catbird, RB Grosbeak
(ad m and f juvie m), Wood Thrush, Am. Robin, Am. Crow, Am. Goldfinch,
Cedar Waxwing, Indigo Bunting (ad ma and f juvie m and f), Song Sparrow, RW
Blackbird, C. Grackle, GB Heron, DC Cormorant, Canada Geese, Baltimore
Oriole, BC Chickadee, BG Gnatcatcher, Gulls: Bonaparte's, Herring and
Ring-billed, Swallows: Barn, Bank and Tree, RT Hummingbirds, E. Starling,
Blue Jay, N. Cardinal, and Belted Kingfisher.
