Weather: Moderate south winds throughout the day, with a hint of east early on. Variable clouds. Raptor Observations: An excellent day for Peregrine Falcons at HBMO today, with 14 being counted, nearly all were just moving down the shoreline to the west. Smaller flights of Sharpies, Cooper's, and Kestrel, and singles of Merlin, N. Harrier, and Osprey. Non-raptor Observations: Today 13,130 became the new seasonal high-count of Blue Jays in a day. Full eBird checklist here: http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist/S39609088 A total of 26 Monarchs were counted migrating today, as well as 6 Black Saddlebags. Predictions: Moderate west winds starting off, and switching to south in the afternoon. Might be another good Peregrine day. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Sean Jenniskens ([email protected]) Holiday Beach Conservation Area information may be found at: http://hbmo.ca/ More site information at hawkcount.org: http://hawkcount.org/siteinfo.php?rsite=100 _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) - the provincial birding organization.
