Two female Mallards stopped by. Weather: While we were at the count site, from 9 to 11, there was a very light rain for much of the time. By 11, the precipitation had increased to the point that we decided to stop the count for the day. Raptor Observations: Only a single raptor, a juvenile Red-tailed Hawk, was spotted migrating today. A Bald Eagle flew very near to the count site on two occasions, and perched across the channel. Non-raptor Observations: A Common Merganser flew by today, and American Tree Sparrows were quietly minding their business around us. Predictions: Tomorrow is predicted to be cloudy, but rain won't likely fall. Light westerly winds could provide some lift for raptors that decide to move on Turkey Day. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Detroit River Hawk Watch ([email protected]) Detroit River Hawk Watch information may be found at: http://www.drhawkwatch.org _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) - the provincial birding organization.
