Hello Birders,

Today I took a drive down to Sedgewick Park in south Oakville. I arrived in a
major snow squall and visibility was poor, the first hour passed with almost no
birds but I did meet a couple of others who had seen the local specialties, so
I keep at it. When all was quiet (and I was frozen) around 1:30 I saw the
Blue-headed Vireo down low coming from the north as I stood in the small stream
valley on the east side of the water treatment plant. It seemed to have been
pushed toward me by someone hiking, once they left the bird made its way back
to the north through the wood lot, always remaining 5' or lower. At the
northeast corner of the treatment plant the Yellow-rumped flew in and then
worked the concrete wall of the northeasternmost cell picking off unseen
insects. While here I also saw the Winter Wren as it worked a large log right
at the same corner. Also a Carolina Wren "cheer" -ed from the woodlot.

Good birding,
