Hello fellow hawkers. I decided this season that our Watch would only post
when we'd had a decent day. Well, today was certainly, for our site, one of
those.
Whether the time of season finally forced a few out of the trees and into the
migration stream (length of day takes precedence,I believe, over weather
patterns)
or the more lively but still uncommitted breezes and slightly cooler
temperatures brought out some of the birds who like to ride the wind (first
kettle of TV's today) I don't know. But I plan to be on the spot earlier
tomorrow, that's for sure. I was so busy today I forgot to record the Weather.
Turkey Vulture 21
Bald Eagle 3
Sharp-Shinned 48 (where'd we be without those little
guys)
Coopers' 3
Red-Tailed 6
Am. Kestrel 2
Merlin 2
Peregrine 4
For a raptor total of 89 birds. I guess the Broaddies are pretty much done
though we keep looking for pepper in the clouds. I remain bloodied but unbowed
and ever vigilant at Hawk Hill.
Lucky Looking,
Tim
