Observers: Bob Hall-Brooks, Michael Williamson, Olga Klekner,
Patrick Tomlinson, Scott Fauteux, Steve Wagner,
                  Urban Lundburg

Visitors:
A good collection of visitors arrived today, 5 that come on a regular
basis, and 10 more that were visiting for the day to see the migration and
the marsh.

Weather:
A cooler morning with few clouds, though a nice layer moved in mid-morning.
Those clouds all burned off quickly and left us with a clear blue sky by
midday, right when the birds started flying high. Winds came from a
combination of N and E all day.

Raptor Observations:
The first four hours of count this morning brought over 400 Sharpies in a
fairly constant stream over the tower. What a spectacle! Groups of up to 8
flew by together, popping up over the trees and losing no time streaming
close by. A few moderate kettles of Broadwings arrived late morning and
then raptors in general became scarce. Anything from that point on was very
high in the sky and easy to lose in the blue.

Non-raptor Observations:
Blue Jays continued to stream over the marsh sporadically, counting in at
6800 by the end of the day. Mixed in amongst them were 67 Red-winged
Blackbirds, 42 American Goldfinches and 51 Cedar Waxwings. A surprise bird
for the day was a Northern Mockingbird which fluttered down to a tree just
NW of the tower and sat briefly, allowing everyone a good look, before it
flew off again. Dragonflies were 1 Black Saddlebags, 3 Common Green
Darners. 35 Monarchs. See today's eBird list

Predictions:
A pleasant temperature going up to 24C, with winds from the N in the
morning, switching to S in the afternoon. It might be another Sharpie
morning!
