  Region.

On the Buffalo waterfront, September 14, a RED-NECKED
PHALAROPE on Lisa Pond at Tifft Nature Preserve. Two RED-
NECKED PHALAROPES have been at the Batavia Waste Water Plant
this week. Most recent report September 17. The phalaropes
were on pond S1, the first pond after the tunnel. The plant
is on Industrial Blvd., off Route 33, west of Batavia.
Visitors must sign in at the office, and be off the property
before the 3 PM gate closing.

September 14 at Amherst State Park, OLIVE-S. FLYCATCHER, 13
  warbler species and a MERLIN.

Migrant GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSHES and SWAINSON'S THRUSHES this
week - at a yard pond by the Lake Ontario shore in Wilson,
and at the Chautauqua County Canadaway Creek Wildlife
Management Area, at Center and Bard Roads in the Town of
  Arkwright.

Shorebirds have thinned out at West Wood Marsh in the
Tonawanda Wildlife Management Area - BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER,
GREATER YELLOWLEGS, LESSER YELLOWLEGS and SPOTTED SANDPIPER
on September 14. Conditions at the marsh may still attract
later migrant shorebirds. Hike to the marsh from the Ditch
Road parking lot, on the south side of the Feeder Canal.

Other reports this week - in a Hamburg yard, up to 4 RUSTY
BLACKBIRDS. And adult BALD EAGLES reported on the Lake Erie
shore near the Hamburg Town Park, and over the Town of Eden.

There will be a Buffalo Audubon, Iroquois Observation
field trip on Saturday, September 19, to view the evening
roost of GREAT EGRETS in the refuge. Meet at 5:30 PM at the
Cayuga Pool overlook on Lewiston Road. (Call the refuge to
  register - 585-948-5445 extension 7036).

The Bird Report will be updated Thursday evening, September
  24. Please call in your sightings by noon Thursday. You may
report sightings after the tone. Thank you for calling and
