Observers: Bob Hall-Brooks, Carol Pitts, Chris Craft, Claude Radley,
                  Ed Pitts, Kory Renaud

Visitors:
We had around 8 visitors today; some returning after having a great time at
the festival this weekend, and a few being in the park for the first time!

Weather:
The morning started cool and clear with a SW wind. It ended warm with a
continued clear sky and S wind.

Raptor Observations:
It was definitely a beautiful day but the wind direction certainly wasn't
doing us any favours. Only 2 Broad-winged Hawks were seen all day, despite
a constant scouring of the skies for distant kettles. What we didn't see in
numbers though, we made up for in variety. 11 species were migrating today,
with an adult Peregrine Falcon right by the tower chasing a gull being the
most memorable, and Sharp-shinned Hawks being the most numerous at 56.
Birds flew low and close to the tower, and at the far side of the marsh.

Non-raptor Observations:
There was not much non-raptor activity today: 1 Chimney Swift, 4
Ruby-throated Hummingbirds, 1 Eastern Phoebe, 45+ Tree Swallows, 4 Barn
Swallows, 21 Cedar Waxwings, and 66 American Goldfinch migrated past the
tower. There were near hundreds of dragonflies feeding around the tower but
only 10 Black Saddlebags and 11 Common Green Darners seemed to be
migrating. 17 Monarchs. For all species see today's eBird list
http://ebird.org/ebird/canada/view/checklist?subID=S25033727

Predictions:
A day very much like today, temperatures up to 25C with SW and S winds.
Partial cloud.
