Total observation time: 6.5 hours

Official Counter: Jenna McDermott

Observers: Bob Hall-Brooks, Jim McCoy

Weather:
It was a scorcher for the first day back to the count! Temperatures rose to
29C with high humidity, making it feel much warmer. The sky was clear, but
visibility was poor from a heavy haze. A slight breeze sometimes blew from
the south.

Raptor Observations:
A grand total of 5 raptors were seen migrating today; 2 Northern Harriers
and 3 American Kestrels. There has been a Broad-winged Hawk seen around the
park for a few days recently which was seen again today but did not
migrate.

Non-raptor Observations:
Migration in the morning of non-raptors was quite productive, with
highlights of 70 Killdeer, 42 Chimney Swifts, 23 Purple Martins, and 346
Cedar Waxwings. The high temperatures also brought plenty of migrating
dragonflies! 36 Twelve-Spotted Skimmers, 22 Black Saddlebags and 8 Green
Darners. One Monarch was seen

afternoon. Winds will come from the SW at 15kph
