Birders: The TUNDRA SWANS are arriving, with at least 650 seen this afternoon in flooded fields just south of St. Clair NWA. There were also 5 SNOW GEESE (including two blues), at least 1000 CANADA GEESE and a small number of ducks, including REDHEAD, WOOD DUCK, MALLARD and AMERICAN BLACK DUCK. More birds were arriving as I was leaving. I expect the warming temperatures and possibility of rain over the next few days will bring many more birds to this and other areas.
Directions: from the northwest corner of Chatham in Chatham-Kent, go northwest on Bear Line (municipal road 43) to Pain Court Line (municipal road 35). Follow Pain Court Line southwest to Town Line Road and turn right, heading towards St. Clair NWA. Take the first left on to Bradley Line, which is about one kilometre south of the NWA. The partially flooded field is on the south side of Bradley Line. P.
