In addition to Bruce's report, yesterday at the Nonquon lagoons we had 37
Trumpeters in a single flock. Additionally, a few more (8 I think) we're
added by others. This was on our Uxbridge CBC so it shattered all previous
records.

Subject: [Ontbirds] Trumpeter Swans- Scugog - unusually high numbers
Typically, you see 6 or 7 Trumpeter Swans in the open water at the Scugog
Causeway, just east of Port Perry on Hwy 7A. Today, there were (are) 24
birds present.... most in full adult plummage.
My guess is that included among them are the usual 6 or 7 that habited the
Nonquon Lagoons this summer and lately, the Causeway area and the rest have
flown up from Whitby/Oshawa (Lake Ontario waterfront).
Good to see them.... 10 years ago, they were virtually unheard of in this
area.
See you "out there" !!! Bruce
