The wind was mostly out of the southwest. Raptor Observations: Only a handful of sharpies, a couple peregrines, single individuals of a few other species and some small groups of vultures decided to dance among the raindrops. Non-raptor Observations: Red-winged Blackbird (2000+), Rusty Blackbird (30+), Blue Jay (1600+), Chimney Swift (14), Pine Siskin (22), House Finch (4), American Goldfinch (40+), Killdeer (6), dowitcher sp. (4), scaup sp. (1) Predictions: Finally, some clearing tomorrow. The location is at the mouth of the Detroit River as it enters Lake Erie. Directions to site: Lake Erie Metropark: >From I-75, exit at Huron River Drive (exit 27). Continue east on Huron River Drive. Turn left on West Jefferson and proceed a few hundred yards to the entrance of Lake Erie Metropark.
