Observation start time: 06:30:00
Observation end time: 15:00:00
Total observation time: 8.5 hours

Official Counter: Jenna McDermott

Observers: Jim McCoy, Todd Pepper

Visitors:
A couple from Windsor dropped by briefly. The Law of the Sacrificial Birder
(where birds show up after someone leaves) was at work again today,
allowing a group of 5 kids and their teacher from St. Peter's ACHS College
School to get a good look at a Peregrine right after Jim left.

Weather:
12C this morning with 100% cloud cover and winds from the S all day. We had
a bit of blue sky at 10 and 11 (EST) which closed back up for the last
couple hours of counting while it drizzled.

Raptor Observations:
It was a nice surprise this morning upon arrival at the tower to see 3
adult Bald Eagles flying, though only one ended up migrating. Throughout
the rest of the day, three juvenile Bald Eagles passed through, along with
7 other species, though in low numbers. 174 Turkey Vultures filtered by
along the lakeshore and at the north side of the marsh after the first
couple of hours.

Non-raptor Observations:
The morning brought a flurry of migrating American Goldfinches (374), Tree
Swallows (44), and American Robins (28). Blue Jays continue to hold their
own with 16280. 950 Starlings migrated overhead along with two other 1000+
flocks at the north end of the marsh, looking like huge shifting clouds
from the distance. Interesting species for the day were a White-crowned
Sparrow and a Red-headed Woodpecker. See today's eBird list
http://ebird.org/ebird/canada/view/checklist?subID=S20051392

Predictions:
A day much the same as today with drizzle, and winds from the S and SW at
25km/h.
