Total observation time: 9 hours

Official Counter: Jonathan Stein

Observers: Andrew Sturgess, Patrick Mulawa

Visitors:

Weather:
Overcast for much of the day, some late clearing occurred toward the end of
the watch. Temperatures hovered around the low 60s throughout. The wind was
moderate and out of the north.

Raptor Observations:
Well, things were looking up at the start with a steady diet of Broadwings
enlivening our first three hours. But little by little, the flight line
shifted farther and farther south, and eventually out of view. Reports from
observers at Point Mouille indicated that close to 20,000 Broadwings were
seen from the headquarters there during the afternoon. The day's highlight
came around midday when a first year peregrine undertook a spectacular
stoop into the woods at our back, delighting the awestruck onlookers below.

Non-raptor Observations:
Not much going on today.

Predictions:
Partly cloudy, moderate temps and light east wind. Any day now could be the
big one.
