This morning, Sept. 3, I saw the following in the causeway marsh leading to
Petrie Island:

Common Moorhen (one adult and two adult-sized immatures)
American Bittern (one)
Marsh Wren (immature, in shrub next to marsh and close to road)
Solitary Sandpiper (one)

In addition, there were 14 warbler species, of perhaps 45 individuals.
These included one Cape May and one Wilson's and were seen along the wooded
edge of the causeway and in other parts of the park.

Directions to Petrie Island:

Heading east in Ottawa on the 417, take 174 east at the (left) split, then
turn north (left) onto Trim Road. Once on Trim, pass the intersection with
a service road before descending to the causeway, which soon leads to the
park's entrance.
