The two male Harlequin Ducks were present at 1000 hours this morning.
They were south of the location described in yesterday's report.
Directions: From QEW, exit at Niagara Street and head north on Niagara Street.
Continue along Niagara until it ends at Lakeshore Road. Turn right onto
Lakeshore Road and cross the Welland Canal at Lock 1. Drive until Seaway
Haulage Road, turn left onto this road, and continue until you reach the
recreation trails along the canal and a gate. Walk out on the east pier road
until you reach the pond on your right (about 1km). Just past the pond is a
trail leading to the right that will bring you across to the east side of the
pier. Continue south on the path between the lake and the pond until it bends
west and back to the road. The birds were about 50 meters out to the
south from that location.
