I found a very co-operative Sedge Wren on the west side of the eastern-most
pond at Humber Bay East this morning while I was walking along the "trail"
bordering the phragmites and bulrushes.

There was also a noticeable increase in swamp and tree sparrows in the park
relative to earlier in the week. Swamp sparrows had been numerous earlier this
month but their numbers had thinned over the past couple of weeks, so perhaps
another wave of migrants is moving through. I saw a total of seven sparrow
species, including two fox sparrows.

Somewhat surprising was the apparent absence of any migratory shorebirds
despite a thorough search of the park, including the Humber River mudflats.

Humber Bay East Park is located south of the intersection of Lakeshore Blvd.
and Park Lawn Rd. in Toronto.
