Observation start time: 07:00:00
Observation end time: 16:30:00
Total observation time: 7 hours

Official Counter: Don Sherwood, Jonathan Stein, Terry Angevine

Observers: Jonathan Stein

Visitors:
More than 20 including a large group from the Michigan State Birding Club.

Weather:
There was heavy cloud cover just about all day. Rain started to pour down
during the 12 o'clock hour and lasted for nearly two hours. Sporadic
drizzle occurred after that. The wind was brisk and out of the west.

Raptor Observations:
A solid day of movement dominated by Sharp-shinned Hawks. Sharpies were
shooting through all day, but really made a nice late afternoon push
between the bouts of drizzle. Cooper's Hawks were also up and about,
returning to the count sheet after a couple day absence.

Non-raptor Observations:
Blue Jays (12,000+) filled the sky during the morning hours. A nice
assortment of warblers were detected including Yellow-rumped, Cape May,
Blackpoll and Northern Parula. Chimney Swifts and Northern Rough-winged and
Tree swallows also continue to be abundant.

Predictions:
Partly cloudy skies, highs in the upper 50s and, most importantly, west
wind at 5-10 mph. Judging by today's late sharpie push, tomorrow has the
potential to be our best day in quite some time.
