Ken Burrell just called me to say that he just found an American Avocet at the Mosaic-Esterhazy lagoons between Dunnville and Rock Point Provincial Park. The bird was in the cells on the north side of the road, viewable from his car. Apparently he didn't see it first thing when he went by but it was still there as of a few minutes ago.
Directions: >From Dunnville go east out of town on Main Street (it becomes North Shore Drive once you leave town) to Rymer Road and turn right (west). The lagoons are visible on the north side of the road about 1.5 km from North Shore Drive. The approximate coordinates are 42.866245,-79.558829.
