Good numbers of shorebirds at Rock Point today were highlighted by an early
juvenile BAIRD'S SANDPIPER. This bird was in very fresh plumage. Other
species here were: SANDERLING, LESSER YELLOWLEGS, PECTORAL, SEMIPALMATED,
LEAST, and SPOTTED SANDPIPERS, SEMIPALMATED PLOVER, KILLDEERS, and two
BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS. At least one Black-bellied has been reported
summering at Rock Point.

My first juvenile LEAST SANDPIPER of the year was at Morgan's Point.

Directions:

Rock Point P.P. is south of Dunnville on Lake Erie. Take Regional Road 3
and follow the signs to the Provincial Park.

Morgan's Point is east of Rock Point on Lake Erie, just a few kilometers
west of Port Colborne. At Burnaby, take Morgan's Point Road south from the
lakeshore road to the point.

Good birding!
