Greetings Ontbirders,

This morning at 9 a.m. Rory MacKay and I were driving into Presqu'ile Provincial Park when a Plegadis (Glossy/White-faced) Ibis flew from west to east over the main road, just past the gatehouse. The distance and lighting prevented us from getting any detail about facial skin and patterns so it remains unidentified, but hopefully someone will relocate it and figure out which species is involved. It was our impression that the bird was dropping down into the marsh, but we searched from the Presqu'ile causeway, the Ontario St. boat launch and from the high dune opposite Beach 1 access road but without success. Having said that, it is a big marsh and the bird could easily be in there feeding out of view.

Cheers,

Doug McRae

Presqu'ile is located south of Brighton, on the north shore of Lake Ontario. Access to the park is well signed from Brighton.
