Have faith "inlanders" for eventually the birds leave the lakeshore and move
north.

Highlights yesterday:

38 Tundra Swans
4 Common Mergansers
2 Bohemian Waxwings
2 Killdeer
1 Great Blue Heron

Highlights today:

3 White-winged Crossbills
3 Sandhill Cranes

Other observations:

Cooper's Hawks doing display flight daily

Hairy Woodpeckers drumming and Pileated calling but no activity from Downies yet

Crows carrying nesting material today and eating Staghorn Sumac seeds (a staple
spring food)

Ravens - building nests with sticks and bark torn off poplars (I've never
before seen them do the latter)

Juncos have essentially moved off - only 2-3 left

Pine Siskins and Goldfinches - foraging in fallen cedar debris on my shed's
rooftop - this material was very wet so was it seeds they sought or insects?

All observations from my yard - Lakeridge and Reach St., Scugog Twp. (just
outside Uxbridge)
