I haven't seen a post today so thought I would pass along that a group of us had brief but clear looks at the Black-throated Gray Warbler today around 1PM, near the 1400m mark of the trail. Once again in the company of a small group of Black-capped Chickadees. The small flock seemed to spend most of its time feeding on the far slope (other side of the rail yard) but came down close to the walking path a couple of times and gave some good views before disappearing over the tracks. Took a couple hours of looking so you definitely need patience. The Blue-gray Gnatcatcher was also nearby feeding low on the slope by the pathway.
Also saw a Carolina Wren at the north end of the trail, just short of the high bridge. Steve McAllister www.swiftbirder.com Directions: From the QEW take exit 90 for Burlington Street. Follow Burlington Street East (6.9 km) to James Street North. Turn right onto Strachan St. W and continue onto Harbour Front Drive. Park in the parking lot on the left side and following the trail along the harbour. Markers are written on the pavement. _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
