Weather: Cool to start, the temperature quickly jumped back into the 70s, where it's been for the last several days. It was again hazy and clear for the most part. Some clouds crept in toward the end of the watch. Winds were initially out of the south, becoming southeast later. Raptor Observations: Not a whole lot going on. Our vultures continue to remain mere specks in the hazy distance. Non-raptor Observations: Three blackpoll warblers could be seen foraging in one of our favored trees near the watch site. A northern shoveler was observed during the last hour. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Jonathan Stein ([email protected]) SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark information may be found at: http://www.drhawkwatch.org Site Description: The primary site used by the Detroit River Hawk Watch (a joint venture of the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge and it's Friends group, the International Wildlife Refuge Alliance) is the Boat Launch at Lake Erie Metropark located approximately 20 miles south of Detroit, Michigan.
